SharePoint eats PerformancePoint

Microsoft has announced that PerformancePoint will be eaten by SharePoint and SQL Server. PerformancePoint will be discontinued as a stand-alone product and features like the scorecard’ing, KPI and graphing will be integrated into SharePoint. Microsofts BI strategy appears to focus on SharePoint, Excel and SQL Server.

Community Technology Preview of Visual Studio 2008 extensions for SharePoint v1.3

While waiting for decent developer support for SharePoint in Visual Studio 2010 one might use the STSADM utiliy from codeplex.

However, Microsoft is working on it and now the 1.3 version of the Visual Studio extensions fix some of the earlier shortcomings of the Microsoft tools, get the CTP and try it out…
