Cat Herding: Rufus
Rufus is not a foster. He is the prime resident cat, and every foster that comes through the house has to work out how to share it with him.
Rufus is a sceptic at heart. He knows not to trust anything and anyone, including his lesser senses. Any change or movement must be carefully sniffed out to make sure it is safe and sound, prim and proper.
Rufus doesn’t cuddle on command, and definitely not while doing his catrol rounds. However, once he is happy things are in order and he settles down for a catnap he might allow some pats, sometimes even purr a little and show his tummy (not to be touched).
